Language and logic

There's a beautiful song by Cali Rose called "It Is What It Is and It Ain't What Is Ain't ." This can be simplified to "It is what it is and it isn't what it isn't." With just a few words, entire worlds of truth can be explored. By varying and combining the two halves, a small playground for logic emerges. Now you can take this sentence and find other interesting examples.

Language and logic are inextricably intertwined: what seems banal at first glance reveals insights into the nature of truth upon closer inspection. In the end you always come back to the classic: "It Is What It Is." Maybe that's the deepest meaning of it all: No matter how crazy the world is, no matter how confusing the logic - but a good, simple sentence that makes you shrug your shoulders always saves us. So, keep your head up: it is what it is.
